New Study Shows Online Social Hot Spots
New research has unveiled social media hotspots; the relative time within the day or week where online postings receive the most traffic or attention.
A common theme shows that if you post near Fridays end or on Saturdays, more people are likely to see it. The reason behind this online traffic is due to people not posting as frequently on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Therefore, Facebook, Twitter and other sites are not being updated as frequently as per during the week.
Facebook shows the most evidence in social posting traffic, with a slow posting point on Saturdays. If you post during this slow time, it is 40% more likely to be seen and it will not be overlooked nor dropped down on the list of endless postings submitted by others. The research data also shows a high point of traffic on Thursdays (the day with most posting per hour), with only a 10% visibility rate.
Below is a Quick rundown on different sites and their high and low points throughout the week.
Facebook- 40% increase on Saturdays, with a low point of 10% on Thursdays
Twitter- 20% increase on Fridays, with a low point of 12% on Sundays
Emails- 10% increase on Saturdays, with a low point of 4% on Tuesdays
Blogs- 6% increase on Saturdays, with a low point of 2% on Wednesdays
