2012, Going Beyond Online. 5 Tips to Improving Your Online Content. Tip 4
The audience you gear your marketing to becomes a consumer, the consumer becomes a client and the client is the driving force of whether or not a product or business will succeed.
— Tip #4. Don’t Underestimate Your Audience
A common thing that has been more apparent in the media world is the lost of quality in content. However, the change in communications in the New Media age, has shown many distributors that the opinions of the consumer/ viewer DOES make a significant difference.
The communication of the consumer is no longer one sided, with the use of social content the consumer can interact with a product or a business through many different outlets. Therefore, it is important that while you are marketing, you take into consideration the quality of content you are presenting to your audience.
Do not make the mistakes many have made in the past, by insulting your audience with low quality, low in content material or changing your priorities without prior notification. You will get hurt in the long run. Take an example from what happened to Netflix, what is happening to GODADDY.com and the most recent call to action of many online communities against SOPA and PIPA. The voice of the consumer is louder and more prominent than ever. If what you’re producing is good, people will notice and rewards soon follow.
