A Look at NBN Charity Projects

Last year The Childrens Health Fund was the winner of a free deluxe national radio release produced by NBN. The organization decided to distribute the radio release during the holiday season which emphasized the importance of charity and giving. Although the holidays are over, there is never a designated time for giving to others. Our client, First Degree, representing the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation, booked and produced an RMT on the importance of the Toys for Tots program to the millions of American children who live below the poverty line. The tour featured USMC Lieutenant General Pete Osman who told 17 interviewers over three hours that for 64 years, Toys for Tots has delivered a message of hope and happiness to less fortunate children with the gift of a new toy at Christmas.

In 2010 Toys for Tots distributed more than 16 million toys to over 7 million children that might otherwise have been forgotten. In 2011, the need has never been greater. Among the stations participating in the tour was WTOP all news in Washington, DC – they ended up confirming 13 broadcasts of parts of the interview over two days in mid-December. We also had secured air on the news cluster channels on Sirius / XM and Radio America. You can hear the RNR on NewsInfusion.com: http://newsinfusion.com/events/toysfortots.
