Break out those plastic scissors, number 2 pencils and a new box of crayons. Buy some notebooks, a lunch box and a brand new backpack. That’s right, it’s back-to-school season…
We’re celebrating the return to school with several projects on the beginning of another school year. We’ll start with a radio tour on the subject of, well, subjects. That is, some advice on helping kids succeed in their subjects come the first day back in class. For our client group at Ogilvy representing K12, we booked and produced a three hour RMT with education expert Kristen Kinney. Kinney told interviewers at 21 stations and networks that kids need to get back in the “learning mode” before school begins. She suggested that a simple act like reading together with your child in the weeks before school starts will help jump-start their education. For older kids, she said that going online to a site like K12 (www.k12.com) offers kids instruction, educational games and lessons, and helps guarantee student success when the bell rings.
